MOBILE TELEPHONE NUMBERS
Please make sure we have your update mobile number. We may need to contact you at short notice. Also we are now sending texts messages to mobile numbers confirming appointments, reminding patients of an appointment and other health related matters.
If you do not need your appointment please cancel it so we can allocate it to someone else.
If you change your address please let us know so we can update your records.
We do not accept requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone
This is for the protection and wellbeing of the patient and to prevent potential error in prescribing. Our main priority is safety. We average between 300-400 repeat prescriptions per week and most drugs are known under a variety of different names, so to avoid confusion and errors it is the recognised and preferred way to run a repeat prescription service.
Please allow two working days (excluding weekends) for your prescription to be ready
All repeat prescriptions are on computer. Requests can be made by ticking which items you require on the tear off portion of your previous prescription.
There are a number of ways you can request prescriptions from us
Whichever way you let us have your request it will be 48 working hours before it is ready for collection. If you let us have a stamped addressed envelope we will post it back to you.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
